COVID-19: Emerging gender data and why it matters

This resource was collectively created by UN Women and WHO with the aim to understand the differential impact that COVID19 had on men and women. By collating data from varied sources, this resource provided critical information about the virus, and showcased the involvement of women as frontline workers- In Spain, Italy as well as USA, the number of female health care workers infected by the virus was far higher than the number of men. This highlighted the need to have disaggregated data, not only for research purposes, but also to chalk out better policy strategies.
